Sharing In the Identity Of God Through Work

Graduation is over, former students from different colleges and universities are now starting to find jobs, a career that dignifies themselves; and we can say that the real world is prepared to hit them - HARD!

Many workers now are struggling with their jobs, with their bosses, and some with their salaries.  The works they are doing seems without any purpose, dignity, or far from satisfying their growth as individuals. As far as we all know, most of us didn't expect these when we were young and just dreaming.

For those young people who are looking for a perfect job, those who already found jobs and even for those who are now enduring their jobs; the Lord have a wonderful message for you!

We are all created for three (3) beautiful things

Man is created in the very image and likeness of God. So, we share in the very nature of God; God being a Laborer (Creator), God having rest or Leisure, and God being Love. Hence, we were created for Labor, Leisure, and Love. But, since Genesis wasn't through in chapter 2, and there in chapter 3 corruption has entered the world, we came to the point that it became common for most of us to see these things in a wrong manner. We often see leisure as something just for ourselves, and not to have fellowship or interaction with other people, or seeing lust instead of love, or labor as a curse; something we will just do for money, a modern day slavery, and alike. Remember, God wanted us to see these three in a way He sees them.

To work is NOT a curse!

In Genesis chapter 2, we can see that the Lord had placed man in the Garden in Eden to cultivate it and take care of it - to work in it (Genesis 2:15). Being a worker is a very nature of God. 

Some may not recognize that their work can lead them to God, and the work that they are doing don't have purpose or meaning, or something that doesn't have dignity in it. These are lies made by the enemy! God have dignity, and a man, made in His own image and likeness is created with dignity. Any work done by a God-fearing man have been made with dignity. Even if you are a carpenter making a  chair, a floor manager mapping the floor, a mother feeding her children, or a CEO of a multi-million dollar corporation; everything made by man have dignity because man being in God's likeness have dignity in himself. 

To work is an act of WORSHIP when offer to God!

Now, whatever career you are going to choose, offer it to God, the bible says in I Corinthians 10:31, "So, whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God", so that the works of your hand will be dignified and become an act of worship to God our Father. Amen!
